The season may be slowing down for us, but your queen has been busy laying eggs in your hive. In fact, she can lay up to 2,000 eggs per day. That's an incredible number to imagine. The eggs mark the beginning of the brood cycle, which is a 21-day process where baby bees develop into an adult. If you were wondering, brood is what we call the baby bees as they develop into an adult.
During hive inspections, beekeepers consider brood as a critical component in evaluating the hive's health. It serves as a window that gives us insights into the hive's condition, including space availability, diseases, future populations, and queen presence. For every hive inspection, we will look at the brood frames and keep data of what we see.
During my inspection, I saw TBC's royalty! It is always a great feeling to find her on a frame.
